The Gr8 Race at West Pennant Hills Public

GET READY, WPHPS - THE GR8 RACE FUNDRAISER IS COMING TO OUR OVAL!

On 18 November, our school oval will be transformed into a sports dreamworld comprising multiple countries - each country is a unique activity or physical challenge involving sport, music, dance, problem-solving or adventure-based learning with friends.

As the DJ drops the beat, students will set off in small teams on an epic adventure to visit as many countries as possible in 90 minutes. Each completed activity earns them a stamp on their team passport.

This is our school P&C’s major fundraiser for 2025 and the event is all about participation! As such, the P&C has paid for every student to enjoy the day’s fun, plus they will receive a sausage sizzle, ice block and a bottle of water to keep them fuelled.

All fun aside, we ask parents and carers to support their child/ren to gain sponsorships in the lead-up to race day. Once registered online, students will have their own personal fundraising link to share with family and friends, asking them to support their efforts as they climb, crawl, leap and slide their way through the course. Every dollar raised by your child/ren will help the P&C to fund meaningful infrastructure and community improvement projects at WPHPS. Your child’s message is: “Support my GR8 Race effort; Build our GR8 school”.

Over the past five years, the P&C has played a vital part in the funding of several capital works projects including: a new AV System in the school hall ($40K); K-2 ‘Friendship v.2.0’ playground upgrade ($60K); Passive Play refurbishment ($60K) and the Covered Walkway installation ($30K). In addition to supporting capital works projects, the P&C is committed to annually funding the MULTI & MINI Literacy programs, as well as Chaplaincy offerings and Families in Crisis support that serves our school community. With your participation, the P&C can continue to make our school a place where every student can thrive.

3. TRACK YOUR FUNDRAISING PROGRESS: Log in to your account regularly to check how many donors have supported you in the 8 weeks before race day.

Every $10 raised = an entry into the store voucher draw. The more you raise, the more entries you earn.

CLASS BONUS PRIZE:

The top fundraising CLASS wins a PIZZA PARTY.

Students are encouraged to start their fundraising efforts as soon as possible, to win PRIZES IN THE 8-WEEK LEAD-UP to the race, including:

ICE BLOCKS for the first year group to reach 30 students registered online.

WEEKLY $10 CANTEEN VOUCHERS – any student who is registered online and has begun fundraising is automatically entered into the weekly draw at school assembly, to win instant canteen vouchers. Draws will take place at the end of Week 10 (Term 3) and in Weeks 1 – 4 (Term 4) before race day.
