The Gr8 Race at Homebush West Public School

On Tuesday 10th November 2026 (Term 4, Week 5), students will wear a PLAIN WHITE T-SHIRT instead of their school shirt and race in teams to visit as many “countries” as possible, with each country featuring a unique sport, music, dance, problem-solving or adventure challenge.

What to bring: Students will wear a PLAIN WHITE T-SHIRT with school shorts and sports shoes. Students to bring in their SCHOOL T-SHIRT in a separate plastic bag to change into after the Gr8 Race Event.

The event will include:

• An inflatable Ninja Warrior course
• Multiple slip and slide challenges
• Colour stations
• Slime elements
• High-energy team-based activities

Fundraising for Our School

Funds raised through this event will go directly towards the school in enhancing student experiences and improving facilities across the school. All funds raised directly through this event support key school programs including the Year 6 Farewell, School Camps, Years 1-6 Swim Programs, and upgrades and maintenance of school sporting resources and equipment.

Which Team will use their Teamwork, Communication and Collaboration to be CROWNED CHAMPIONS!

How to Participate

Getting started is simple:

1. Register your child/ren
Click Register a new child on this page. When completing the class information for your child/ren you will be asked to nominate Grade and Class. 

2. Register for the event
Register your child for the Homebush West Public School Gr8 Race Event. All students who register by Friday 16th October will receive a mystery prize!

3. Share
Once registered, you can view your child's dashboard and share the sponsorship link. Each child registered has their own fundraising link. Share it via text, email or social media with friends and family to rally sponsors. We have class fundraising prizes linked to combined goals.

4. Earn Entries into the Prize Draw
For every $10 raised, students will receive one entry into the major prize draw. The more funds raised, the more entries received for the Prize Draw!!

Students will go into the draw to win:

All major prize draws will be up to the value of $150

 Special Class Bonus Prizes

• When a class reaches a combined target of $500 they get to slime their home class teacher on the event day.
• When the class reaches a combined target of $1000 they get a class mufti day and an afternoon of free choice in class.

Special weekly challenges

• The class who raises the most in Term 4 Week 1 gets FREE ICE BLOCKS.
• The class who raises the most in Term 4 Week 2 gets FREE ICE BLOCKS.
• The class who raises the most in Term 4 Week 3 gets FREE ICE BLOCKS.
• The class who raises the most in Term 4 Week 4 gets FREE ICE BLOCKS.

Teacher slime on the event day

If the school raises $5,000 we slime Mr Fung.

If the school raises $10,000 we slime Mrs Tamsett.

If the school raises $15,000 we slime Mrs Southall.
